On February 27, START Global and Forbes hosted the third event in their joint event series in the Square of the University of St. Gallen. The topic was “The Team” and our speakers gave interesting insights into what a successful founding team in a startup is about.

The Swiss Sequoia Club, a student initiative bringing aspiring entrepreneurs from the University of St. Gallen and ETH together, and START Global hosted a Co-Founder Day in St. Gallen. The Day consisted of panels, founder stories and networking. ETH and HSG students were attending the event to bridge the gap between tech and business.

In the auditorium of the Maastricht University School of Business and Economics, the team from START Maastricht organised the first RtSS of the 23/24 season. Seven startup teams presented themselves in a breathtaking setting, of which the winner this year was from the FinTech sector.

In Germany’s capital, START Berlin has organised their Road to START Summit on January 26. The evening was filled with entrepreneurship. Carbonsate was able to convince the Jury and won the pitching competition to get the chance to pitch at START Summit in St. Gallen.

Together with UTEC Ventures, START has organised one of the first Hackathon in our RtSH series. This is a pre-hackathon to win a spot at START Hack and receive travel reimbursement for the trip to St. Gallen. RtSH Lima had 30 attendees, 2 cases, 30 hours hacked and over 160 applications to show for itself.

Together with Violet Ventures, START Global has organised the first RtSS in Abu Dhabi, which was also the first intercontinental RtSS. It was an afternoon filled with great pitches, one of them being from our winning team Pupilar. The occasion fostered intercultural exchange and offered a captivating glimpse into an emerging startup ecosystem.

The second event of Forbes’ and START Global’s event series “The Money” was organised in Zurich, Switzerland. The topic was how to correctly fundraise as a startup.

A major highlight in rather small Liechtenstein. In addition to regional culinary delicacies, the presentations were also varied. Many innovative ideas from numerous verticals from young and advanced founders made the decision difficult, but in the end a startup from the health sector prevailed this year

The week included workshops on building your business, financing your startup as well as the tax system. On the last day we visited the Brightland campus, an innovation campus where 30,000 entrepreneurs, researchers and students work every day on breakthroughs in the fields of sustainability, health and digitalization.
