CHAPTER TIMELINE

Pitching competition organised by every European chapter throughout the year. Several early stage start-ups are invited to present their ideas and pitch them in front of the audience, including a jury, which decides on a winner. The winner’s start-up gets the chance to participate in the quarter-finals of the START Summit pitching competition. All start-ups get the opportunity to network with investors and other stakeholders, thus creating valuable partnerships for their future development.

ROAD TO START SUMMIT (RTSS)

Huddle up, hackers, and get ready to hack-a-ton! This Hackathon consists in a case solving organized together with a partner, according to information, budget and format given. RtSH is hosted on START Chapters to choose the most promising hacking teams that get to go to the world’s most entrepreneurial Hackathon, START Hack. Hosted every year together with START Summit, Hack reunites the best programming talent from all over the world for a 36-hour sprint in solving creative challenges with real-world applications.

ROAD TO START HACK (RTSH)

At RtSF, startups all over LatAm pitch for a chance to get fast-tracked to START Fellowship’s annual 3-months long accelerator. Local pitching competitions give an opportunity to startups to present their ideas in their home turf before they enter the competitive process of applying to START Fellowship. In the past, chapters have also organised workshops and bootcamps for the selected startups to elevate their pitches and maximise their chances to getting into the program of a lifetime.

ROAD TO START FELLOWSHIP (RTSF)

START Sprint is a 4–5 week in-person program where members work in diverse teams to develop a problem into an MVP and present it at Demo Day. The program features hands-on workshops, ongoing inputs, and coaching for each team. Its goal is to build the skills and knowledge participants need to confidently navigate the startup environment afterward. Each chapter adapts the Sprint to best suit its local ecosystem.

CHAPTER HIGHLIGHTS

START Alumni

Our Alumni are one of our biggest treasures. A community full of really capable people.

START Alumni are members who have successfully completed at least one full active term in a START Chapter after passing a formal recruitment process. In special cases, members who served for a shorter period may also receive Alumni status if they made an exceptional contribution. Final decisions regarding Alumni status are made by the chapter president.

START Alumni Hubs

Each Alumni Hub functions as a local ecosystem, designed to keep former STARTies connected and active in different European cities.
The goal is to create vibrant environments where alumni can exchange ideas, collaborate, and continue shaping the entrepreneurial spirit that defines START.

Every Hub is led by a Hub Lead, who organizes events throughout the year and brings the community together.
Once a year, all Hubs unite at START Summit — experiencing the event from an exclusive alumni perspective.
